For the love of music: tattoo #4

I used to be a really shy kid who rarely spoke with terrible stage fright and little friends. No one knew I existed or what talents and capabilities I had. Was also picked on too.

In 7th grade I joined band class and was recognized with a band award at the end of the year. In 8th grade I joined marching band as 3rd chair trumpet but stole and copied 1st and 2nd chair trumpet music and mixed them together until 2 years later was placed as 1st chair and stayed that way since, then I graduated a section leader after 2 years of trying to avoid it until being forced into it. I regret not going for it those few years earlier now.
Throughout those 6 years playing trumpet was the best years of my young life. Through band I made more friends, became more confident in myself, discovered a new talent as well as love for music, found myself, somewhat overcame my fear of talking, somewhat overcame my fear of large groups of people, won awards and have been recognized for me being me and my music talents as well as other art talents.

The trumpet is one of the best things that happened to me as a teenager and now I represent my love and gratitude through permanent art. I still go back to visit, help, and play music with my second family, the band. I truly miss playing everyday and Friday night footba....half time. My college does not have band unfortunately.

This picture was taken within 5 hours of getting it. It may look black in the picture, but the trumpet silhouette is actually a dark grey (or maybe now a lighter grey since it's healed, but I dunno lol I can't see it). I tried my best to mimic a silver color since my favorite trumpets I loved to play in concert/marching band were silver. The treble clef is kinda a dark electric blue.
